FAMILY MEDICINE AT ITS BEST! Are you finishing residency and looking for a place to start your medical career? Or are you an experienced physician who misses the rewards of traditional primary care?

Maniilaq Health Center in Kotzebue, Alaska is looking for full-time, BC/BE Family Medicine Physicians who have a sense of adventure and a desire to practice primary care medicine. We are a tribally-owned, JC-accredited, Critical Access Hospital with 12 inpatient beds, a 5-bed ER, two L&D rooms, and an Outpatient Clinic. We provide strong support for our Medical Staff with our in-house Pharmacy, Radiology Department, and our Medical Laboratory. We also have a busy Dental Department, an Eye Clinic and a Physical Therapist.

We use telemedicine to provide daily medical care to eleven outlying villages. With no roads between our communities, providers have the opportunity fly to their assigned villages for regularly scheduled field clinics.

Specialty consultations are available by telephone 24/7 through Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, which also provides medical providers for our Specialty Field Clinics in Kotzebue.

Compensation is based on the provider’s experience and versatility. Among our benefits are a moving expense allowance, a sign on bonus, generous CME allowances, paid vacation, paid holidays and a retirement program. Several outside organizations provide educational loan repayment. Our ER and OB call are shared.

But there is more! Not only will you have a rewarding, meaningful and varied medical practice, you will live above the Arctic Circle. You will have an opportunity to discover Inupiat culture and experience life on the tundra. Summer’s midnight sun brings long daylight hours for boating, picnics on the beach, bird watching, and picking the sweetest berries you can imagine. Winter in Northwest Alaska brings lots of snow with abundant opportunities for snowmobiling, hunting and dog mushing and ice fishing. You will also discover long, cold, starry nights and the amazing aurora borealis.
