Often referred to as either the pan handle or the Inside Passage, Southeast Alaska offers a milder coastal climate (with lots of precipitation) and proximity to Seattle and the “lower 48 states”. The glacial carved fjords & coastland are teeming with wildlife: whales, sea lions, porpoises, salmon, eagles & bears.

Many of the coastal communities disconnected by mountains are accessible by the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System. The Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC), Peace-Health & Bartlett Regional Hospital are several of the larger health care organizations serving the region.
