The most innovative aspect of the clinic’s design is its approach to caring for patients and families through an integrated-care model that emphasizes wellness over intervention and focuses on family-centered lifestyle changes. In this Patient-Centered Medical Home model, a highly-collaborative team of providers works together in an open space. Such teams — made up of doctors, nurses, medical assistants and specialists — care for entire families. The team learns about a family’s medical and non-medical issues, which ensures comprehensive prenatal to end-of-life care and support on the patient’s journey to optimal wellness. Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Psychiatry, Orthopedic PA, Radiology, Dentistry, Optometry, Lab, and Pharmacy are all services at the health center.

Fairbanks is a wonderful university community with a surprising amount of arts, music, theater and community activities. Situated in the Tanana River Valley with the Alaska Range to the south and the Brooks Range to the north, Fairbanks is surrounded by the awesome beauty of wilderness. Groomed and lighted cross-country ski trails at both Birch Hill and the University of Alaska provide world class winter recreation. Summer boasts extended hours of daylight in the land of the midnight sun with unlimited options for outdoor adventures: alpine hiking, river trips, boating, cycling, camping, national parks, fishing, etc. This is a wonderful welcoming community for the individual or family looking for a new adventure.

Our Mission

Tanana Chiefs Conference provides a unified voice in advancing sovereign tribal governments through the promotion of physical and mental wellness, education, socioeconomic development, and culture of the Interior Alaska Native people.
