Alaska Psychiatric Institute/Alaska Recovery Center is an 80-bed inpatient psychiatric care facility and is Alaska’s only involuntary inpatient hospital.  API/ARC builds the foundation to Recovery via a bio-psycho-social model of health care.  Multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to provide a safe environment, encouraging the patient to participate in decisions regarding his/her care, as well as assisting with the coordination and establishment of a “medical home” after discharge.

The following position is immediately available:

• Telebehavioral Health Psychiatrist:  BC/BE with experience.  Annual Salary based on years of experience and/or specialty training. Collaborate with remote/rural behavioral health providers through telemedicine to villages and communities throughout Alaska.  Includes telephone consultation with Anchorage and other community Primary Care Providers for coordination of psychiatric care through a Medical Home model.

Alaska Psychiatric Institute/Alaska Recovery Center is an 80-bed inpatient psychiatric care facility and is Alaska’s only involuntary inpatient hospital.  API/ARC builds the foundation to Recovery via a bio-psycho-social model of health care.  Multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to provide a safe environment, encouraging the patient to participate in decisions regarding his/her care, as well as assisting with the coordination and establishment of a “medical home” after discharge.

The following position is immediately available:

• Staff Psychiatrist/Geropsychiatry Consult Liaison:  BC/BE with experience, fellowship training preferred but not required.  Annual Salary based on years of experience and/or specialty training.  You will be assigned oversight of a 10 bed Neuropsychiatric Intensive Care Setting for individuals with significant cognitive impairment (including dementia, refractory SMI, TBI, MR/DD adults).  You will be assigned to a treatment team with a designated clinical social worker and team nurse. In addition, up to 6 hours weekly will be through Consult Liaison work at an outside Geriatric Care Setting.
