Award winning non-tribal Community Health Center on Unalaska Island in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska (featured in Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” series) seeking BC/BE family physician to work full time providing primary care services and acute/emergency services to permanent residents of the community as well as a large seasonal population of multi-ethnic/multi-lingual fish processor workers and fishing boat employees. Scope of practice includes general healthcare for all ages, prenatal care (no deliveries), occupational medicine, including orthopedic injuries from overuse and trauma, minor office procedures and initial care and coordination of care for patients needing hospitalization in Anchorage (closest hospital is 3 hours away by plane). Lab and X-ray are on site, with stat professional radiology services available via digital link. Call is shared with 4-6 other providers and the community is respectful of times when clinic is closed.
